The Way That Megan Thee Stallion Is Making Me Want Stick-On Butterfly Tattoos… — See the Photos

Must read

Just looking at these pics of Megan Thee Stallion makes me feel like I’m sitting in the audience at TRL. The rapper did a total time warp to the glory days of Y2K with her adorable new stick-on butterfly tattoos, and now both my 12-year-old self and my 30-something self want a set.

If anyone could make stick-on body decals cool again, it’s Megan, who is currently enjoying some time in Tokyo. She showed off her faux-“ink” in a series of pics, pairing them with a silver leather zip-up halter top and matching pants for a very 2000s vibe. (The navel ring peeking out adds to the ’00s authenticity.) A whole kaleidoscope of butterflies decorates her body, with the little blue winged creatures fluttering on her shoulders, the center of her chest, and back. The butterflies on the front of her body are slightly smaller and lighter in tone, while the two on her back are a vibrant sapphire blue, made entirely of teeny-tiny crystals — a color she picks up in her vibrant royal blue manicure, leaving absolutely zero details unchecked.

Megan wore her hair in a chin-length bob with straight-across bangs, similar to the look she wore to present at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. A neutral eye, fluttery curled lashes, and a pearly highlighter on the top of her cheekbones and bridge of her nose added to the otherworldly, ethereal effect.

If you’re not ready to make the tattoo commitment or just want something fun for a weekend event, why not try a rhinestone body decal like Megan’s, or perhaps a temporary tattoo design? These aren’t the stickers you bought in a grocery store vending machine back in the ’90s; they’re much more realistic and detailed, and could definitely serve as inspiration for a future, more permanent design should that be in your plans. As for me, I’ll be scrolling around trying to find my own stick-on butterflies, because they truly could not be cuter.
