Galerie Vazieux, Paris // February 01, 2024 – February 24, 2024
From his training in traditional Asian painting, Korean artist Moonassi (무나씨) retains the use of materials—paper, ink, and water—as well as the spiritual essence—representing feelings rather than resemblance. In a graphic, refined aesthetic, he deploys large black shapes from which emerge enigmatic characters evolving in silent landscapes.
The scenes, which sometimes seem to touch on the unreal, are inspired by the artist’s memories and poetic imagination. Conceived as metaphysical explorations of the human condition and relationships, Moonassi’s singular works offer an infinite palette of emotions and plunge us into a dreamlike universe of multiple interpretations.
Murmures, the first solo exhibition in France by Moonassi, is on view at Galerie Vazieux.
