I love Megan Thee Stallion‘s manicures because they are always long and artistic as hell, so the moment a photo or video of her crosses my feed, my eyes reflexively move right to her hands. Imagine how shocked I was when I noticed the Hot Girl Coach’s bare, short, natural nails in her most recent Instagram post.

On October 11, in honor of International Day of the Girl Child, Thee Stallion shared a short clip about how her organization, the Pete and Thomas Foundation, is supporting Black girls and women through the Black Girl Joy Challenge. As she explains the challenge, she is seated, wearing an all-black outfit paired with shimmery lime eye makeup and glossy lips. Her long, kinky-straight hair was parted down the middle and styled into big waves that cascaded to her hips. (Not to mention those perfectly looped and swooped her baby hairs along her hairline.)

As she shares more information about the challenge, you can see how her hands are missing her signature long, lipstick-shaped tips. Because she’s moving her hands as she speaks, it’s hard to see whether or not she’s truly going au natural or if she’s wearing a nude or light-pink nail polish that camouflages well.
