Lily James’s ’90s Bombshell Hair Was Golden Globes Gold — See Photo

Resplendent in a cut-out red Atelier Versace gown complete with a voluminous train, Lily James represented Britain in style at the Golden Globes on the night of January 10. There is a fine art to red-carpet dressing and getting a look just right — a key element of which is the beauty look. If the dress is dramatic, how does one balance it with hair and make-up? James and her team just offered a masterclass.

James’s shorter-than-usual hair was styled into a “bombshell ’90s silhouette,” according to her go-to hairstylist, Halley Brisker. He used Great Lengths Hair Tape Extensions to boost volume at the front of her hair, around her face, and to “really max out that flick.” The result was a glamorous, modern take on Old-Hollywood glamour — it was perfect for the red carpet.

Meanwhile, makeup artist Nina Park (who also worked with Daisy Edgar-Jones on the night), used Charlotte Tilbury makeup to create an elegant, polished look on James. Alongside flawless skin, she paired a soft feline flick with a fan of fluttery lashes and added a subtle touch of shine to her eyelids. Not to mention those enviably thick brows, which were brushed perfectly into place. It was makeup that felt effortless and didn’t detract from her dress.
