Hailey Bieber Says She Has an Ovarian Cyst “The Size of an Apple”

Must read

In a post on her Instagram Stories, Hailey Bieber said she’s dealing with something many of her followers can probably relate to: an ovarian cyst.

Hailey, 26, posted a photo of herself showing her stomach on Monday night, telling followers that she’s been dealing with pain, nausea, bloating, and cramps because of an ovarian cyst “the size of an apple.”

“I have a cyst on my ovary the size of an apple,” she wrote over the photo of herself. “I don’t have endometriosis or PCOS but I have gotten an ovarian cyst a few times and it’s never fun. It’s painful and achey and makes me feel nauseous and bloated and crampy and emotional.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, ovarian cysts are common and often harmless. In fact, many people will have a cyst on the ovary without any symptoms, which will go away on its own within a few months. A larger cyst, like the one Hailey said she has, can cause pelvic pain and bloating, according to the Mayo Clinic. While these kinds of cysts may not cause any health complications, they can sometimes burst open or cause the ovary to twist, which can cause more serious issues.

Because ovarian cysts are so common, Hailey wrote in her post that she’s sure some of her followers understand her pain.

“I’m sure a lot of you can overly relate and understand,” she wrote. “We got this.”

This isn’t the first time Hailey has opened up about her health. Earlier this year, Hailey revealed that she had undergone surgery to fix a hole in her heart after she had experienced a mini stroke. “Definitely the scariest moment of my life,” she said about the stroke. At the same time, her husband, Justin Bieber, has been dealing with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that can cause partial facial paralysis as a result of the virus that causes the chicken pox and shingles. Justin had to suspend his world tour to recover.
