Everything is coming up roses… and daisies… and lilies for Blake Lively. The actor is playing the florist Lily Bloom in the forthcoming adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s wildly popular It Ends With Us and has leaned all the way in to the floral motif throughout the promotional tour thus far. She’s wearing floral-print dresses. She’s got flowers on her nails. And now she’s wearing them in her hair, channeling Rapunzel from Tangled in a blonde braid bedecked with blooms.
Lively has four children, so there’s absolutely zero percent chance she hasn’t seen the Disney movie at least once or twice. (It’s a favorite in my home too.) For a pop-up event to promote her beverage line Betty Buzz in NYC, Lively and her hairstylist Jennifer Yepez took a page from Rapunzel’s book and added a handful of pink, purple, and pale yellow flowers to an undone side braid. It may not hit the floor and keep going and going like Rapunzel’s magical hair, but Lively’s version is just as pretty. Her honey-blonde hair was pulled to the side and loosely braided down one shoulder, with the flowers scattered throughout, starting at the mid-lengths and arranged to match her bright pink floral Dauphinette dress and coat. The flowers certainly look real, so perhaps Lively and Yepez stopped at Lily Bloom’s floral shop before the event.
For this pop-up event, Lively skipped the matching floral manicure in favor of a “minimalist watercolor” design courtesy manicurist Elle Gerstein, with a sheer, neutral base and just a touch of swirled color on the tips. Makeup artist Elaine Offers added a matching pink lip to this bright, colorful ensemble; while Lively typically sticks to a more muted lip color on the red carpet, she has been known to dabble in hot pink shades from time to time.
On-theme dressing has been a popular option for celebs promoting their movies, starting with Margot Robbie’s legendary Barbie press run and Zendaya’s sporty-chic Challengers looks. It seems like Lively is all in on the botanical glam for the It Ends With Us tour thus far, and we have a feeling she’s got even more flower-inspired looks in store for the premiere.
